EU sanctions 30 individuals and organizations after Navalny’s death

EU foreign ministers have pledged political support for new sanctions after the murder of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny in an Arctic penal colony.

“We have agreed to impose sanctions under the US global human rights sanctions regime on 30 individuals and organizations responsible for the killing of Alexei Navalny,” Josep Borrell said after the ministerial meeting in Brussels. According to Politico, the sanctions will include asset freezes and travel bans.
