US Sanctions Global Financial Network Backing Hezbollah

The U.S. State Department has announced a new wave of sanctions targeting individuals and organizations accused of providing financial support to Hezbollah.

According to a written statement by Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott, the primary goal of these measures is to dismantle Hezbollah’s global financial infrastructure and severely limit its funding capacity. The sanctions specifically target a network of people and entities allegedly involved in money laundering and fundraising through various businesses and projects across:

The Middle East

Europe

North America

The announcement also outlined the U.S. government’s justification for the move. The State Department emphasized that Hezbollah’s ongoing attacks on Israel and its commitment to carrying out “terrorism” on behalf of Iran demonstrate that the group prioritizes militant activities over the peace, security, and daily well-being of the Lebanese people.
