The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated key components of the Iranian regime’s digital asset network as part of the Trump administration’s “Operation Economic Outcast.”
Sanctioned platforms and companies are below:
BitBank: An Iranian cryptocurrency exchange controlled by sanctioned financier Babak Zanjani, used to transfer hundreds of millions of dollars in Bitcoin to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Entities & Developers: Pishtaz Simorgh Electronic Trade Company, a subsidiary of Dot One Value Creation Group that developed BitBank’s software and digital asset infrastructure.
Individuals: Three key Zanjani associates and Dot One executives—Hossein Ali Zaker Hossein, Mohammad Mahdi Zaker Hossein (CEO of Pishtaz Simorgh), and Seyed Adel Heidari—for brokering digital asset transfers and running sanctions evasion operations for the IRGC.
All U.S. assets of the designated persons and entities are blocked, U.S. persons are prohibited from doing business with them, and foreign entities risk secondary sanctions and losing access to the U.S. financial system for facilitating these transactions.
